Is Your House Address Displayed Correctly?

Our Code Compliance Officer will begin placing door signs Monday January 6, 2020 on any homes within the Town of Wayne that do not have properly displayed house addresses. Homeowners will then have 10 days to correctly display address numbers. If not done within that time limit, a letter will be mailed to the occupant giving 30 days to have the house correctly numbered or a citation for one hundred dollars ($100.00) will be issued.

Town Code Section 10-1-4 (excerpts):

According to the Town Code Section10-1-4 of the Town of Wayne, address numbers are required for all houses and buildings fronting on public streets within the Town of Wayne.

The owners and occupants shall install and maintain the numbers of the street address.

The identifying numbers shall be not less than three inches (3″) in height and must be in color contrast to the house of building, so that it can easily be seen day and night. Must be visible from the street.

Any person who shall fail to comply with any provision of Town Code Section 10-1-4 of the Town of Wayne shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and subjected to a fine of one hundred dollars ($100.00) for each offense. Each day that a violation is permitted to exist shall constitute a separate offense.
