The Town of Wayne is accepting applications for a Full-time Water/Sewer Operator.
Applicants must have high school diploma or equivalent. One-year experience in maintenance/construction or equivalent experience required. Any combination of training and experience may qualify if job skills, knowledge, and abilities can be met. A valid Oklahoma driver’s license is required. “D” water and sewer licenses preferred or ability to acquire within nine (9) months of hire date. Must reside within 20 miles of the city limits and may be on call 24 hours a day.
Job Description: Perform work in the installation, maintenance, and operation of the Town of Wayne’s water/wastewater utility systems, lines, lift stations, pump stations and associated equipment. Employee needs skills necessary to operate and maintain public water and wastewater systems: including attention to detail necessary for regular sampling and reporting data, the ability to read guidelines, rules and regulations. Will also perform general landscape maintenance of right of ways, parks and other Town maintained facilities; operate equipment including tractors, backhoes; as well as make minor street repairs. Must have the ability to follow oral and written instructions, and to work alone or in groups.
